Dr Onslow

The partners at Market Street wish to announce that Dr Arabella Onslow will leave the partnership on the 25th June, after twelve years' service.

Her passion and energy has contributed greatly to the practice and she will be sadly missed by patients, staff and colleagues.

Coronavirus Update 27th May

Further to our announcement in April. As many of you will be aware, following NHS advice, we have closed the doors of the practice.

Please bear with us as we continue to provide services, albeit a bit differently,  to minimise risk to both patients and staff.

As restrictions lift, slightly, please watch this space for any future developments.

Situation

All requests for a GP appointment will first have a telephone consultation, only if the GP thinks you need to be seen, will you be invited for an appointment.

Routine HCA and Nurse appointments have been completely suspended. Services we are continuing with are

- INR bloods

- PSA bloods

- High risk drug monitoring

- Zoladex injection

- Childhood immunisation

- 6 week baby check (will now be done at 8 weeks alongside first immunisation appointment)

B12 clinic is cancelled. This will remain cancelled until further notice.

Our pharmacist is working through the list of patients who attend and they will be contacted in the next 7 days, with information of how we plan to manage this for the coming months.

Those who are due this week will be prioritised.

Current NHS advice is to self-isolate for 7 days if you have either :

- a high temperature (above 37.8 degrees)

- or a new continuous cough, persisting for more than 4 hours

Only use the 111 coronavirus service of your symptoms do not improve after 7 days or your condition gets worse : https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19

FAQ's

  • Who needs to isolate for 12 weeks?

All patients who are high risk should have now received a letter, either from the government or from us. If you have not received a letter and you think you should have, please call the surgery on 01229 462591.

  • Can I have a sick note for my isolation period?

No, we are not issuing sick notes for any isolation reason. 111 website can issue sick notes for those isolating due to symptoms of COVID-19 or a household member having symptoms of COVID-19. Sick notes for other reasons continue being issued as normal.

  • Can I rebook my cancelled appointment for a couple of months’ time?

At the moment, all routine checks are suspended and we do not know when this will change. We therefore cannot book anything at this time but all annual reviews we have cancelled, will be contacted when normal clinics resume.

  • I have symptoms of COVID-19, what do I do?

Visiting the 111 website remains the first thing to do in this situation. There are a series of questions to answer and it will advise you of the path to take. If 111 advise you to contact us, then please do so. You will be put down for a phone call with the GP and they will assess you over the phone.

  • Am I allowed to still contact you about routine problems?

Yes! Please still contact the surgery as you would for all routine health problems. It is important for us to be keeping patients well in the community.

  • How do I request a prescription?

Patient access is the preferred option for prescriptions requests. For those who aren’t registered for online services, there is the email address, prescriptions@gp-a82039.nhs.uk. For those who don’t have access to email, family or friends can request on your behalf.

  • I need to collect my sick note/blood form/referral/prescription etc, can I come to the surgery?

All documents will be sent electronically where possible or posted to you.
